Into the Fox Hole?


 So, I'm going to be honest and just outright say it, I have no idea what this is. I think it's just a case of some overgrown roots of a tree getting expose due to erosion, but it could also be an animal den. As for what animal, I'm not hundred percent sure. My best guess would be a fox, but it could also be almost anything. 

I didn't really have much of a reason for taking this photo. I just found it interesting so I thought I might as well capture a picture. When I was a little kid, I would always think about crawling inside one of these holes. I used to think that if I were to crawl in far enough, I would end up in an interesting world like wonderland from Alice in wonderland. Of course, I never ended up actually crawling in, mainly because I was too scared that there might be a monster inside. Which worked out pretty well because even if there wasn't one it would still be a bad idea.

Unfortunately, I don't have any fun facts today nor did I have much to say. That just how it goes sometimes. One thing I will talk about because this entry is so short, is the fact my past few photos have all been pictures I took a few months ago. My goal is to eventually update this photo journal everyday with photos I take on each day, but it will be a bit before I catch up to that. In the meantime, please enjoy these entries.

A Mother Robin

 A few months ago I found out that a robin had built a nest in a small tree right next to my house. At first I thought there was just one bird but soon discovered that there was three baby birds in the nest. I was kind of surprised that it took me so long to notice them cause baby birds are by no means quite and I passed by the tree anytime I leave the house. Still I'm happy I got the chance to see them and watch them grow up. It was very interesting to see how fast they grew and the process of them going from balls of fluff to balls of  feathers.  It only took about a week in a half before I saw the baby birds leave the nest. The nest was empty for about a month until one day I saw another set of three baby robins plus a momma robin. A Puddling Butterfly

                             When it comes to the world of photography these two photos would be considered bad. Both lack good composition and the lighting isn't very good. In the world on insect photography it is also bad. Mainly due to the fact its hard to properly identify what type of butterfly is in these photos. After spending way to long trying to figure out the species, I have come to the conclusion that this is a pearl crescent butterfly. Though to be honest there is a very good chance my conclusion is wrong so feel free to correct me.  I believe these photos serve as a good reminder that at the end of the day I'm still an armature photographer. There not very good but that ok since I still find them interesting to look at. Normally it can be a bit tricky when trying to capture a photo of a butterfly.
